Microsoft 365 · Alexis IT delivery in Waikato and Bay of Plenty.

Microsoft 365 set up the way Microsoft intends.

Tenant design, migration, Teams Phone, security and day-to-day administration — for 50 to 200 staff businesses across Waikato and Bay of Plenty.

What's included

Microsoft 365 is the most under-configured business platform in New Zealand. Most tenants we audit have licensing nobody can fully explain, MFA missing from at least one account, sharing scopes set to "Anyone with the link" by default, and security policies left at whatever the original setup wizard chose. The same tenant, configured properly, is one of the strongest pieces of business technology your firm can run on. The difference is whether someone has actually done the work.

How we deliver it

We start with an audit of your existing tenant (or current email and identity if you are still on-premise). From there we build a written design — licensing model, identity policy, security baseline, Teams Phone plan if relevant — and ship it as a project. Migration cutover lands on a weekend with mailboxes pre-staged. Post-cutover the same team takes over ongoing administration under your Managed IT agreement, so the people who built the tenant are the people who answer the phone when something needs changing.

Frequently asked questions.

How do you migrate a business to Microsoft 365 from on-premise Exchange?
As a planned project. We audit mailboxes, distribution lists, shared mailboxes, public folders, calendars and mobile devices first, then schedule the cutover to a weekend so Monday morning opens on the new platform with no business hours lost. A stabilisation week follows where the same team is on hand for tail-end issues.
What's the difference between Business Standard and Business Premium?
Business Standard is the productivity bundle. Business Premium adds Microsoft Defender for endpoints, Intune for device management, Entra ID P1 for conditional access and multi-factor authentication, and information protection. For 50 to 200 staff handling client data, Business Premium is usually the right baseline — the security stack alone is cheaper than buying it separately.
Can you set up Teams Phone for an office in Hamilton or Tauranga?
Yes. Number porting, calling-plan licensing, auto-attendants, call queues, voicemail routing and the desk-handset, headset and mobile-app provisioning. Because we also design the underlying network, we tune QoS and SIP on the same network the calls run across — which is the single biggest reason Teams Phone deployments either work cleanly or sound terrible in practice.
How do you secure Microsoft 365 against phishing and account takeover?
MFA enforced on every account, conditional access tied to device compliance, legacy authentication protocols disabled, Defender for Office 365 scanning inbound mail, Defender for Endpoint on every managed device, and Entra ID risk-based sign-in protection. Configured to Microsoft's recommended baselines then tuned to how your team actually works.
Are you a certified Microsoft partner in New Zealand?
Yes — Alexis IT holds Microsoft Small Business Specialist accreditation, the partner programme aligned to the 50 to 200 staff segment we serve across Waikato and Bay of Plenty. That accreditation gives us direct access to Microsoft's partner support channels when an unusual issue needs escalation.
